Self Improvement

Fighting Bipolar Disorder
What's the Connection?





Self improvement is actually the bulk of fighting bipolar disorder. It's the key reason why taking meds as your sole response is an abysmal missing of the point.

Meds come in handy for acute distress and emergencies, no doubt. I was very glad on many occasions to have something pumped into me to stop the horrendous panic I often faced. But as a long term response, they fall short. They can even add to your miseries.

You need to take a look at the entire structure of your being: your physical health, your spiritual outlook, your beliefs, your diet, your habits, your perspectives, your hopes and dreams (realized or not)... in essence, your entire self.

All of these areas interconnect to form the "you" that you are familiar with. It might sound depressing if you're not well but it should give you reason to celebrate. These areas are malleable. They can be influenced, turned off, started up, or changed entirely.

Figure out how they all influence one another, learn which ones influence the others the strongest and whether or not these influences match your heart's desires or provide you with good health, and you begin to see how to fix the problems you now face.

I learned all of this intuitively and used it to change my life, the biggest change being the return of my sanity and the stoppage of my bipolar symptoms.

But we are not all the same. Maybe you'd like a second opinion as you begin this self improvement journey. Maybe you'd like a third or a fourth!
