Garret LoPorto Explains the Connection between the Artistic Temperament and Bipolar Disorder
Davinci was the greatest inventor the world has ever known. His artistic temperament led him to extremes. He screwed up as much as he succeeded. Probably more, as this is common on the road to great accomplishments. Ask any high achiever and that person will attest to the unknown pain behind the public glories.
How does this connect with bipolar disorder? Garret LoPorto wrote a book answering that very question. And I am beyond grateful that he did.
See, some of us who are bipolar, are not truly the mess we think we are. Well, we are, but it is more a matter of the mishandling, mislabeling, and mistaking of a phenomenal skill set for a problem, or even "symptoms", when the problem is one of improper context. That was a mouthful. Please let me explain.
If you are capable of greatness but try to live a life that never requires you to express this greatness, you will get sick from it. You will get bored easily and create trouble, just to have some action. You will not know how to properly express all of this energy and these ideas within you and when you finally do, it can come out explosively, improperly, or just plain backwards from what you meant it to be.
Or, what might even be worse, you somehow manage to contain it, quietly, to yourself, and the effort starts to kill you. Your gift turns to poison within your heart. This can literally lead to physical and mental illness.
Hello bipolar disorder.
This is twistedly good news for some of you. Only about 10% of the population has this Davinci mindset. But out of that group, it seems 35% of them are bipolar. We're sort of a world within a world. Welcome! ;-)
When I found Garrett's book, I had already been well for almost two years. My bipolar was gone. But something was still bothering me. Like an itch. I didn't know what it was until I read his book,
"The Davinci Method: Break Out & Express Your Fire."
I learned I was a Davinci.
This is a moment (I read the book in one sitting) that I'll never forget. I realized that for all I'd discovered and all the great health progress I'd made, there was still a part of me screaming to get out.
I realized I had to create something. I realized I was going to have to chart a new course for my life, in order to gain the level of satisfaction I needed and deserved. By doing so, I'd become something good for the world. I'd finally be able to maximize my sense of self while helping others, at the same time. I knew this would bring me great joy.
This is one big reason why you are even reading this now, on my site. Garret gave me the freedom, through his words, to build something great. And believe me, you are only seeing one piece of all I do. I am not bragging. I am coaching you. I am excited for you! You need to know that if you have this urge within you to achieve, create, lead, and make noise, that you can do so and should do so, for both your good and the good of the public.
Pull this off and you will experience satisfaction on a level you can't really comprehend right now. Or maybe you can and your frustration from not achieving it is killing you, as it once was killing me. No worries. That's where my system TORQUE BACK comes in. You now have a plan for putting to use what Garret shares.
For that matter, so does Garret! He calls it The Davinci Method, of course. It's in the book. I melded it with my plan. You can do the same with whatever version of healing system you choose.
We need you to become whatever the greatness within you is directing you towards. By you achieving this worthy goal, we'll all gain something worth having.
When I read Garret's book it felt as if he'd interviewed me personally to get his material. His generalized findings were matching the course of my life. It was incredible!
Please note, this may not apply to all bipolar people. If you do not sense any Davinci urges, do not feel as if you're less than. You are still meant to do whatever it is that's within you, but it won't require you to explosively launch into an whole new state of being. But no matter what it is, we still need you to do it well. Everyone has an important part to play here. Everyone.
If this does apply to you, don't be afraid of the coming challenge and don't be upset that you haven't reached your glory yet. You're here, now, reading this. Things happen when they're supposed to happen. Just proceed. Start by checking out Garret's book.
