Candidiasis is a systemic yeast infection. It lives inside your entire body; your blood, your organs, your digestive tract...all of you. It feeds on sugar, an American favorite, and it hurts you both directly and indirectly as it grows and creates waste by-products. It's a mean little beastie that is feeding on you and poisoning you, simultaneously. Donna Gates wrote "The Body Ecology Diet" which shares the various ways she helps one annihilate the candidiasis or possible systemic fungul infection one may be harboring within their body. These things are normally in us anyhow and can never be truly eradicated. But if we don't eat right, experience too much stress, or voluntarily harm ourselves in some other way, they get a strong base of operations set up and begin tearing us down on a cellular level. I learned of the potential for candidiasis to cause bipolar disorder symptoms from David Moyer's book on another page on this site. He mentions it often. Donna doesn't outright label bipolar as a result of this infestation but she offers enough parallels for the knowledgeable person to make the easy connections. Think for a moment. How many of you have ever been told by your psychiatrist that your mental illness symptoms could be from a systemic yeast infection? Oh, it's possible but I wonder what the ratio would be of docs that would consider or even know of it, compared to the docs that would think such a notion would be nuts in itself. Hmmm... The Body Ecology Diet takes some doing. It addresses how you eat, how to cleanse your organs and colon, how your blood type might matter, etc. I never did the diet itself. I didn't have the heart to be honest with you. But I pulled salient points from the book and incorporated them into my own developing wellness plan, which later became TORQUE BACK. Donna explains the value of natural sweeteners made from plant alcohols, fermented vegetables, sea salt, cultured vegetables, sprouted grains, probiotics, detoxification regimes, juicing, digestive aids, and superfoods as you rebuild your health and immune system. Her book offers many tasty recipes that utilize her methods of eating and preparing foods. This resource is yet another example of investigating a story for one reason and finding unexpected benefit in another area as a result. I highly suggest you give this one a look-see. Donna is pure of heart and intent and she has deep personal experience with all she teaches. These things are clear when reading her book. Help yourself to a copy and help yourself.
